Lake Murray Water Babies

Mary and Jade are here, and Jesse's in Atlanta. So I made sure our guests were well entertained. We took an overpriced tour of a 150 year old house. (23 bucks for the 4 of us, including one senior citizen discount! yikes!) Then I took them someplace cheaper and more fun. ($3 for all of us. How do ya like them apples?) We went swimming in Lake Murray where Sydney attempted to drink the Lake a couple of times and Cera was scared off by a turtle. Jade tried to catch a minnow, with a MickyD's cup and the minnows thought I was delicious and tried to eat me! And Grandma kept us laughing at the white woman who, probably through years of tanning, was deep reddish-brown, and trying to tan some more. There isn't any of the human race that that type of coloring would look natural on! All in all is was a fun day and we all ended up home, exausted.

Pretty Sunset

Walked outside the night Jesse was getting his Mom and Jade from the airport and saw this. I was awed. There's just nothing like a pretty Carolina sunset......
The pictures just don't do it justice. You should have seen it in person........

Auntie Cera

For those of you who have heard us talking about Cera, this is her. Cera is one of my 3 younger sisters, who has so graciously moved into our home to watch Sydney while I go back to work full-time. We're taking charge of her Home-schooling, so yes she's getting an education. SHe's so much fun to have here. We love you Auntie CeCe!

This is Sydney's new bed! Sydney would get her arms and legs caught between the bars of her crib (despite the bumpers) and would scream when she couldn't roll over. Since this happened about 3 times a night, we decided to take the bars out of the equation and see what would happen. Well, the experiment was a success! Not only does she sleep in it (both naps and bedtime), but she puts herself to sleep in it without getting up a hundred times before crashing on the floor in front of the door (like we expected). Another plus is that I was planning on redecorating her room to be a garden theme anyways, and found this cute twin sized bed set the day after we made the switch! Coincidence? I think not! And of course what little girl's Garden themed room wouldn't be complete without a John Deere Blankey (it's her favorite)? Besides all that I think about the change, Sydney thinks it's just peachy! I'll find her reading a book there or playing with her dolls there. I don't know what she'll do once we get the frame set up, but we'll just have to wait and see.....

Redneck Ambiance

Jesse and I were invited to go to dinner and a movie with some of our friends: Cathy and Arnold. We went to a world famous BBQ place (Shealy's)and then to a drive-in theatre (The Big Mo). I must say it was quite the experience! After driving about 30 minutes to get to Shealy's we waited for a parking space, then for our friends. There was a line outside the door that went around the side of the building, even though it was pouring rain! While we waited, two Church busses (from different churches) left with thier parishioners, and the line shortened dramatically. Then we get inside, get to the register to order the buffet and halfway through the transaction the power goes out! Now it's dark, very dark. And they have to get a generator going, and get some light in there. These people break out a flood light. Now that's ambiance! We ate our food, then headed toward the theatre. We got there and set up. We faced the back of the jeep towards the screen, opened the hatch, lay out our blankets and pillows and settled down for the
double feature: GI Joe and Transformers 2. It
was an awesome date, for those who haven't been
out since Sydney was born. HUGE thanks to Cera!

By the way: those are my feet, not Jesse's

So Very Tired

Have you ever got so tired of doing something you finally decide its time do something about it? Well I did! I got sick and tired of having to pull the stupid chain on the ceiling fan to turn the light off so the fan would stay on. So I ripped the switch out of the wall ran a piece of 12-3 romex hooked up a duel switch and solved the problem. It took about two hours only because I had to take the whole fan apart, but it was well worth it. Now the light is on a switch and the fan is on a switch. I can finally rest!!!!! Oh yea and Amber was on my behind to get it done, she was tired of pulling the chain too.

South Carolina History Lesson

What we do in our spare time in South Carolina!! Notice Jesse is trying to live a normal life where Amber and her sister Cera are trying to distract the Northern soldiers during the great battle of the "War of the Northern Aggression" what us northerners call the Civil War. There hopes of distracting the north soldiers to give there kin a chance to win the day proves to be fruitless despite their great effort. I do have to say Amber looks pretty good in that dress.
editors note: Amber did a great job in making those by hand, great job Baby!!!!

Daddy "In parenting "

To all those that believe I don't do my part in raising Sydney here is a little proof of my mad parenting skills. FYI she says daddy more than anything else.

Three Buzzards Sitting in a Dead Tree

We had some visitors this morning perched up on the old roof top. Nothing says good morning like three buzzards plotting on where they are going to get there next meal. When Amber went out to go to work one of the buzzards buzzed right by her head. The one buzzard sitting on my roof top antenna pecked at it for awhile. They eventually moved on to the house across the street, and I went back to making my pancakes.
