That is a really long branch on that tree, and really close to the ground.

That tree was really old. a couple of hundred years, i can't remember exactly how many. Theres another tree somewhere in Charleston that we didn't get to see. It's caled the Angel tree and it's over 1600 years old. It's lower branches have to have supports to keep them from touching the ground, but they look like this branch only much thicker.
